Tosca, a global leader in reusable packaging solutions and supply chain pools, launched a new heavy-duty plastic "super pallet" this month, which it believes can provide game-changing efficiencies throughout the automated distribution supply chain. 

NeRa's design performance is better than wood. It is the first plastic pallet with Tosca trademark PowerDeck strength design, and is equipped with SureFoot legs for seamless automation. It has a static load rating of up to 3,000 kg and is fully nestable-Tosca says this is a unique combination that increases storage capacity and reduces by up to 2.5 times compared with similar wooden products Space requirements.

Jesse Sels, President of Tosca Europe, Middle East and Africa, explained: “There are some plastic pallets that can carry a weight similar to NeRa in a rack, but this is the first time that this kind of strength has been provided in a nestable pallet. The nested design, combined with high strength-to-weight ratio and long service life, makes NeRa a more cost-effective and sustainable solution than wooden pallets in almost any warehousing and distribution application. Its robust structure and highly consistent dimensions This means that NeRa is very suitable for automated handling systems. These benefits are especially obvious when the goods are transported "last mile" out to retail stores."

He added that compared to wooden pallets, NeRa plastic pallets are space-saving and durable because they can be nested, so they can save a lot of space. The tray is designed with no runners, which can reduce the stacking height by half. This not only saves valuable warehouse space, but also allows each return truck to load an average of 660 pallets. NeRa also has a low weight of 18 kg, which means you can place more items on pallets and trucks to increase profitability.

According to Tosca, NeRa trays are made of 100% HDPE and are also resistant to damage and bacteria, enabling cleaner overall operations. Compared with wooden pallets, they do not require heat treatment, have fewer cleaning times, and can save labor for cleaning the wood chips on the conveyor belt and the floor. The service life of NeRa pallets is seven years longer than that of wooden pallets. They are reusable, repairable and recyclable. According to Tosca, compared to wooden pallets, they can reduce pallet disposal waste and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 2.5 times (based on a distance of 500 kilometers and 100,000 trips).

Optimized for automation. Each NeRa plastic pallet has the same weight and dimensions, measuring 800 mm x 1200 mm x 157 mm. SureFoot wide side legs ensure seamless transfer on the conveyor belt and can be swapped in and out easily and quickly. NeRa is equipped with high-visibility green outriggers, which can help forklift operators to safely carry loaded pallets on elevated racks.

NeRa pallets are only suitable for sharing and rental, compatible with all standard 100 mm and 150 mm conveyor roller spacing, and suitable for all standard pallet rack types, including drive configuration.
