No injuries were reported Wednesday evening; Fire crews remained on scene into early Thursday morning

Roseville firefighters put out a fire Wednesday night at a commercial building on Washington Boulevard.

According to the Roseville Fire Department, crews were dispatched at 9:16 p.m. and found an active fire with multiple explosions happening inside a party supply and rental business.

"They initiated an offensive, aggressive fire attack," said Matt Lauchner, division chief of operations for Roseville Fire.

Lauchner said the fire department heard there may be people inside but were able to determine the building was empty while they began to knock down the fire. Lauchner said they had to strategize around working in such a large space while also staying aware of the contents inside.

"There's canisters of paint. There's propane tanks, helium tanks," Lauchner said. "The other danger was just the sheer size of the building itself."

While the fire was primarily burning in a storage rack area, the sprinkler did turn on and cause water damage throughout the space, Lauchner said. Roseville Fire said there was water, smoke and fire damage inside the building.

The fire is under investigation. No injuries were reported.

Cal Fire and Rocklin Fire assisted in the response.
