Gardner Minshew "feels great" in the Hawks' first start-ProFootballTalk

Minshew Mania has been in freezing condition for the first 12 weeks of the season, but fully recovered at the MetLife Stadium on Sunday.

Gardner Minshew started as a quarterback for the Hawks. Jalen Hurts suffered an ankle injury. He scored 242 yards and two touchdowns on 20 of 25 shots, winning 33-18. He played well enough that Eagles coach Nick Siriani was asked whether Hertz would return to the starting position after he recovered from injury.

The answer is that Hurts will return to the starting lineup, but this does not reduce the fun Minshew has from his return to the game.

"It feels great, buddy," Mingxiu said via Dave Zangaro of NBCSportsPhiladelphia.com. "This is the best time I have had since the first week of last year. I didn't feel that way. It was a pleasure to do it with this group of people. They made it easy for me. So, it's fun and fun."

Sirianni said that he expects Hurts to recover after the team's 14th week bye, so Minshew may not return to the game this season. However, the quarterback carousel will spin in this offseason, and Mingxiu's game on Sunday can help him find more playing time in 2022.

Uncle Rico should start somewhere.

They hit terrible jets. The Jets' defense cannot cover, intercept, or put pressure on QB. Their punters can't bet, their punters can't kick, the jet is a train wreck.

Treat him well! I don't know if Minshew can become a long-term franchise QB, but I don't understand why not. If the criterion for judging him so far is that he cannot bear the burden of the entire Jazz, what about Lawrence?

No one is patient anymore. Tua played well, but if Miami traded Watson, he would be ousted. I'm not saying that Minshew is perfect, but that's the point-be patient and let the players develop, especially the young QB.

Minshew is an excellent substitute QB who can start for the reconstruction team. See Ryan Fitzpatrick. Regardless, what the Eagles and Hutts should learn from Minxiu is how to use bottom line players and how to use mid lanes in general. Hurts looked left and right, then ran, forgetting to admit the team's ball handler on the court. If Hurts wants to be a long-term NFL starter, he needs to learn from what Minshew showed yesterday.

Gartner Minshew, the son of Guido Merkins, is scary.

He looks great on the outside.

If the team is in a downturn, this intensity is very suitable to give them a hand (because the Eagles start from the middle of the third quarter against the Saints, until the entire Giants game).

But this intensity is also unsustainable and tends to go out in about half a season.

I totally agree with Minshew's comment on the use of the ball game, which was lost in Hurts' poor decision-making process. I hope Hurts thinks this is an opportunity to keep myself awake and continue to learn.

I still think his upper limit is higher than Minshew's, even though Minshew provides a strong reason for the starting job that a person can do in the field. I was pleasantly surprised.
