Food Shelf Supervisor Casey Mathis said in an email to VTDigger that Brandon Area Food Shelves refused to accept the state Republican plan to hold "Let's Go to Brandon" in Brandon, Vermont this weekend. Any donations for the rally.

"The food shelves were not told that this'is happening'," Matisse wrote.

This rally was the first event organized by the new state Republican chairman Paul Dame. "Let's go Brandon" is a euphemism for "Fuck Joe Biden" and has become popular in Republican circles in the past month. Brandon is the hometown of Mrs.

The State Republican Party is selling "Let's Go to Brandon" hats, T-shirts and bumper stickers, and said that part of the proceeds will be used on food shelves in the Brandon area.

"What annoys me is that they did it even without touching the food shelf itself," Mathis told the Times Argus earlier this week. "And I understand their intentions are good, but nonetheless, to promote it as a major Republican event on social media, in my opinion, for anyone reading it, the food shelves in the Brandon area They all seem to support the Republican Party, which I dislike."

Mathis said that the food shelf is a non-profit, non-partisan organization.

Dame told Times Argus that he would find other charities in the Brandon area to donate the proceeds.
