Holiday shopping often kicks off with Black Friday in November. This year, however, Walmart might be starting it as early as October.

Walmart said it knows many customers start marking holiday shopping plans months before the holiday season, especially with inflation, and that Walmart will help with that by offering deeper deals on toys, home decor, electronics and more.

“More than half of Walmart customers will start their holiday shopping research in October and Walmart is prepared to meet their needs and help them make the most of the season with an exceptional experience no matter how, when or where they want to shop,” the company said in a press release.

The specific deals haven’t been announced.

But Walmart added that return policies will be extended. Any item purchased on or after Oct. 1 can be returned through Jan. 31, 2023.

“Saving our customers time and money is in our DNA, and I am proud of how we’ve innovated to offer exactly what our customers need this holiday – deeper savings across a broader assortment of gifts with a seamless omnichannel shopping experience,” said Tom Ward, executive vice president and chief eCommerce officer of Walmart U.S. “We listened to our customers, and the way we’re approaching holiday this year underscores our commitment to making holiday shopping easier, affordable and more enjoyable.”

Walmart has also already released its 2022 annual top toy list. The list includes Legos, Paw Patrol Big Truck Pups playset, Nintendo Switch items, a Frozen 2 bike and more.
