The Citroen Ami is a cute urban runabout, but it’s been transformed into the wonderfully wacky My Ami Buggy concept.

Billed as a “playfully imagined” concept that “every child from the age of 14 to 77 would want to add to their Christmas list,” the My Ami Buggy features a rugged exterior with bull-bars, headlight guards, and extended fender flares. The latter help to accommodate the concept’s meaty tires, which are mounted on offset wheels with a matte gold finish.

The ridiculousness doesn’t end there as the concept has been equipped with rock rails, an auxiliary light bar, and a spare tire that is mounted on the roof. The doors have also been removed and replaced by swing outs that hold specially designed storage bags. When the weather turns stormy, drivers can install rainproof canvas panels that are a nod to the Mehari.

The unique styling carries over to the cabin as there are “Advanced Comfort seat cushions,” which feature twice the padding as the standard Ami. The concept has also been equipped with a matte gold metal storage rack, cup holders, and a plethora of removable storage bags.

Citroen didn’t release specifications, but the standard Ami has a 5.5 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that powers an 8 hp (6 kW / 8 PS) electric motor. This enables the model to hit speeds up to 28 mph (45 km/h) and travel up to 43 miles (70 km) on a single charge. While it’s not fast, the Ami can be driven without a license and operated by people as young as 14 in certain countries.
