I’m a savvy shopper, how to always reach the item at the back of the supermarket shelf WITHOUT asking for help | The Sun

HAVE you ever been halfway through your weekly shop, only to find that the next item on your list is hiding right at the back of the very top shelf?

You’re then left with the decision of whether to call someone over to help out, or awkwardly clamber in a clumsy attempt to grab it.

You’ll be pleased to hear that this will now be a thing of the past, as one savvy supermarket shopper has shared how he makes sure he always reaches the item that’s slightly out of grasp – and it’s super easy.

TikTok user Gary Rubble, who can be found at @barneyr1961, uploaded a video sharing his genius supermarket hack.

In the clip, Gary recorded himself in the fizzy drinks aisle, as he pointed out that there was just one bottle of lemonade left, but it was completely out of reach.

He then revealed how it didn’t matter, thanks to his simple trick.

Gary wrote: “Don’t struggle to reach the bottles at the back of the top shelf.

“The runners on the shelf aren’t just to line up the bottles.

“Simply lift and pull and the bottle comes to you.”

The supermarket shopper then showed the hack in action, as the bottle easily came off the shelf for him to put into his basket.

Fellow shoppers were so impressed and said that they couldn’t wait to give it a go for themselves after years of struggling.

One wrote: “OMG I have been climbing the shelf.”

A second said: “Thank you on behalf of a 5 foot 3 girl.”

While a third added: “At 5ft this changed my life when I worked this out a few years back!”
