Muoverti, the pioneer in indoor cycling behind the innovative TiltBike, has announced that it has started building its first series of TiltBikes in the UK to be completed before the end of this year. This is the first limited series of TiltBikes to be manufactured in the UK using composite frames. The bikes will be used for compliance testing and further rider feedback. Selected riders from the waitlist in the greater London Area can participate in this beta test with a bike delivered to their home for ‘on-site’ feedback.

Muoverti has assembled a world-class team to drive production and software development of the TiltBike with mechatronic engineering led by Chris Staunton, former Director Of Design Engineering at Polestar UK and formerly with McLaren, software development headed by Etienne Smith, a seasoned CTO in multiple software ventures, and Emily Chong, a Master in Biomechanics and triathlon coach, leading the product experience.

Christoph Wilfert, Muoverti CEO and Co-Founder says, “When we unveiled our pre-production prototype in 2021, the reception was incredible. I’m very excited that we have since assembled an amazing team and awesome technology partners that are ready to fulfil our mission. We have come a long way since the prototype was unveiled at Rouleur Live last year – smiles on the faces of our test team are testament to that – and now we’re looking forward to building the first mini series in the UK”.

TiltBikes are designed for riders in search of the most effective exercise and to redefine indoor cycling as we know it. Built for athletes of all levels looking for a realistic indoor cycling experience and effective exercise with uses ranging from general fitness to intensive training and esports. The bikes enable riders to balance and steer, accelerate, brake and engage the whole body to simulate riding outdoors, indoors.

CloseTheGap SaveMyBar Bar Plugs – Small Innovations Count, Too

CloseTheGap is glad to announce the commercial launch of its race proven SaveMyBar barplugs. Hot out of their injection molds, the SaveMyBar proved itself effective during the multiple falls and pile-ups of this years’ tour de France with Team Jumbo-Visma (see TdF crash damage image).

These barplugs, available in Black (and Yellow – as seen on Jonas Vingegaard’s bike) were designed to solve a specific request from the team mechanics: prevent filing-down of carbon handlebars during racing crashes. This reduces the need for time-consuming and expensive handlebar replacements: something every road and gravel cyclist with a nice handlebar will benefit from.

5 things to know about SaveMyBar:

New from Kitsbow: Rayburn Shirt and Espresso Mescal Shorts

The Rayburn is the ultimate multi-purpose snap-front shirt. Whether on the bike, traveling to work, or exploring a new city this classic design is capable of high performance in a variety of environments. This is similar to the Essplanade shirt but the material features more polyester.

New: Kitsbow Mescal Short Kitsbow has also debuted a new color of the Mescal Ventilated Short: Espresso. The Mescal is Kitsbow’s most breathable short, maximizing airflow for all-day climbs and brutal descents.

La Passione Turns Yellow: Annemiek van Vleuten Queen of the Tour de France Femmes La Passione’s Ultralight collection alongside the Dutch superstar

Annemiek van Vleuten is the queen of the Tour de France Femmes and delivers a new record to La Passion and the Movistar Team with a win that overcame adversity with an incredible attitude that has led her to become one of the most influential champions of modern women’s cycling.

Her climb to the yellow jersey was studded by obstacles that she managed to leave behind on Saturday 30th July where, with a feat of her own, she won the stage and jersey with an irresistible move. But Annemiek completed her masterpiece in the final, eagerly awaited stage with the finish at La Super Planche Des Belles Filles where she literally dominated the final ascent with a spectacular sprint at the foot of the famous climb.

A victory that allowed La Passione to conquer, after the women’s Giro d’Italia, also the Tour de France Femmes and seal a 2022 that will remain unforgettable.

“It is truly amazing how Annemiek embodies the La Passione philosophy in every way,” said Yurika Marchetti, Co-Founder of La Passione. “She has an iron character, formed by adversity and determination. Her victory is a great achievement for the movement. Being a part of it was already a source of pride, but Annemiek has made it all the more special with this success that is an incredible story to tell: it is a reality of hard work and sacrifice, an inspiration for everyone, including us.”

On race days, the Dutch champion has already spoken about how La Passione’s clothing has impressed her during this season and how she can’t do without one of the most versatile products in the collection created by La Passione for Movistar Team, the wind gilet, which she always carries with her both in races and in training.

“If I’m not comfortable with what I’m wearing,” she said, “I can’t be myself even in the race. This is fundamental. I want to be one hundred per cent, and every little detail counts.”

For van Vleuten, weight and aerodynamics are a real dogma, which is why during the gruelling days of the French ‘canicule’, La Passione was by her side with the Ultralight line, made especially for the most demanding summer conditions.

“These are featherweight products,” explained Yurika, “featuring an ultra-breathable mesh fabric. The jersey in particular has round sleeves and a generous neckline to avoid feeling the need to unzip while racing and consequently losing aerodynamics. Annemiek also used the Ultralight Road Skinsuit on the roads of France. The mesh fabric of which it is made is not only breathable – thanks to its rhombus construction – but also dries quickly, ensuring maximum comfort and avoiding the feeling of cold that riders often feel on the descent, even on the hottest days. Our developers call this particular feature Push&Pull, as on the one hand it ensures breathability and on the other it has an absorbent effect that provides freshness. We know that for Annemiek these details are very important, indeed fundamental.”

“For us, it is a pleasure to work with such a meticulous champion who continually drives us to raise the bar, making these technical developments available to our customers as well.”

Lizard Skins Launches New Monitor Glove, The 3 SZN Designed to take over for the standard Monitor in colder, wetter weather

Lizard Skins, a leader in grips and handlebar tape, knows a lot about a rider’s contact points, and their renowned Monitor line of gloves has been providing comfort and performance in the hands, perhaps the most important contact point, for years. Now, with the launch of the new Monitor 3 SZN, they’re extending the line with a Monitor aimed at riding road or dirt in cold, inclement conditions.

The new Monitor 3 SZN glove has what the original Monitor line has offered for years – great fit, comfort, bar feel, and protection against rocks and branches while protecting your hands against cold weather. The flexible thermal backing keeps the cold weather at bay, and the elasticated cuff allows the glove to be worn either over or under a sleeve of a jacket.

The model also features a nano water-resistant lining to keep moisture out. Plus, with a tackified, hydro-resistant material in the palm, offers outstanding grip, even in the wettest conditions. To maximize bar feel and connection, there is no padding in the glove.

“We have heard from athletes like Kerry Werner, Erin Huck, and others that they’d love to see a Monitor glove designed for when things got a little colder and wetter. So this glove has been overdue, but we had to make sure it stood up to the Monitor standard,” says Ryan Huntington, Lizard Skins’ Sales and Marketing Director.

“We were excited to start work on this glove back in 2019, and I think the hard work has really paid off,” adds Brian Fruit, Founder. “The 3 SZN has been a balance to try and make a glove that is truly usable for two and, in some areas, three distinct seasons. I like to ride in the winter, and this glove will be a welcome addition and allow me to get out and ride a little longer.”
