These youngsters were selling fresh fruits and vegetables on Friday across from the Homestead Gift Shop on East Grand Lake Road. Pictured, from left to right, are the VanStrydonk girls, Violet, 11, Pippi, 8, and Ivy, 6. Not pictured is their brother, Ryker, 10.

Their mom, Rachel VanStrydonk, explained that they are from Hemlock, Michigan, but they have a place up here and their family is from here.

“My great-great grandpa was Kauffman,” she said. “We’re related to probably half this lake.”

The children’s grandma made them “The Grand Stand” outdoor shelf to display their fruits and vegetables on.

On Friday, they were selling blueberries, cucumbers, zucchini, squash, cabbage, green tomatoes, and more.
